Description and pictures of the owners of condo A-1 and some guests

Hans Schmitthenner and Joan Potenza are both research scientists at Kodak in Rochester, NY. Hans is a U.S. citizen with ancestors from Germany and Holland. Joan is of Italian descent and grew up in Brooklyn, NY and in NJ. Their two sons are Joseph, who likes drumming and soccer - and David, who likes playing guitar and is very artistic.

Our family began to take yearly winter breaks in the Caribbean in the 1990’s and have visited the Islands of St. Lucia, Grenada, Dominican Republic and Cozumal. These islands were beautiful but ever since visiting Akumal several years ago we were enchanted with the area and returned to look at properties in 2004. Our favorite was Mi Casa del Mar.

All of the owners value the beauty and comfort of Mi Casa del Mar. It is a special place and we hope to spend many retirement months here. We ask our guests to remember that they are not in a hotel but in our private home. Our neighbors are special, wonderful people who cherish the property and peace, quietness and politeness as well.
